Michelle Hilmes
Tutor

Michelle is a Deaf teacher who moved to Minnesota from Idaho in 2015 to teach 5th grade Deaf/Hard of Hearing students at Metro Deaf School in St. Paul. She learned so much and had a lot of pleasure working with her students there in her five years of experience there. Before moving to Minnesota, she taught middle and high school English at Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind for one year then after Metro Deaf School, she went to teach ASL for two years at Anoka-Hennepin District. Now Michelle is a full time stay at home mom with her 2 year old twins! It's her most rewarding and enjoyable job so far! She graduated from the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) credential program for the DHH in spring 2014 and received Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from CSUN as well in spring 2012. She enjoys reading, cooking, playing with her boys, taking walks with her labradoodle, Maximus, watching shows on Netflix/Hulu and watching football (Go Pack Go!). Michelle is beyond excited for this school year and cannot wait to witness her students to bloom learning a new language.
