Semester one

. Food and kitchen safety.

. Table setting and mill service.

. Etiquette and hospitality.

. Cooking everything from eggs to produce.

Semester two

. We will dive deeper into adding flavor.

. Mealtime favorites.

. Grains and bread.

. Beverages and appetizers.

. Desserts.

. Dinner party

Throughout this course, we will try new things have a lot of fun exploring the world of culinary arts together. Students will have the opportunity to try and cook a lot of different things. They will also get to learn about different kinds of food and culture, along with some history.

Upon completion, students will receive 1 high school credit in Intro to Culinary Arts.

We will also have a dinner party for the students' families where everyone will get to enjoy what the kids learned in this course

I have been a stay at home mom to 3 kids who are all adults now. Steven and I knew early on we wanted to homeschool our kids . We have enjoyed the freedom that homeschool has brought us. One of the major benefits that we enjoyed was having fun exploring and learning new things together. I am a wife to an amazing husband for 35 years who has made it possible for me to stay home with are kids and to pursue my passion for cooking. When my kids were younger I taught fine arts and culinary arts in a homeschool co-op. One of my favorite things to do is cook and teaching others how to cook. I once read in an article that we were two generations away from people not knowing how to cook. I found that very sad and I want to show kids and others that cooking is fun. It is not just a necessity for survival. Cooking is a skill easily obtained by anyone.
